Oh No The "Plateau"

I can't tell you how incredibly frustrating this gets.

Working so hard 24/7 and then your body just says, yeh... we know your game now...

let's halt all continued progress until further notice.

I have had several of these on this journey already, but this by far has been the longest.

So for me it just means its time to make changes.

Time to reset and time to prep for another successful year.

"I eat super clean" "I started to work out"

then I ask "what more can I do?"

What more I can do is the key.

Yes, I am doing amazing, I am eating amazing.

I feel amazing... I am working out more getting stronger.

I know that muscle weighs more than fat. Blah blah blah...

Truth is though I still have a lot of fat to burn...

So obviously what I am doing right now is not the right formula for me at this stage in the game.

Do I cut more food? Do I add better choices? Do I workout 2x a day? Do I change my workouts?

These are the questions that have been on my mind for a week plus now.

So this is going to be trial and error I think over the next week or so to find out what is the right formula for my body at this stage.

I am reviewing in my head everything I have ever learned about any diet / healthy eating plan I have ever done in my life. I am looking back on workouts and patterns that caused me to have a successful week.

I am going to take the best of the best of all of these options and come up with a game plan that I can maintain until I need to reboot again.

This isn't to say I don't want to throw the scale out the window ...

BUT I know my will to get me past this year as well as my nature of problem solving...

I WILL come up with a strategy that works for me.

What I am keeping...

1) Healthy Clean Eating - I am a firm believer in this... food is fuel. Your body is a "temple" as some say. There is no way I am going to change the balanced, clean and amazing eating I have held up for something less than.

Can I add things to it to assist?? Absolutely. One thing I was thinking maybe I need some additional fiber. So a thought was maybe along with my meal at night and breakfast in the morning I will add a green smoothie. Make sure I am getting enough greens.

2) Workout - I've added Kickboxing the past few months. I will not give that up. It makes me feel fit, strong and amazing. I feel empowered after every class and every morning I wake up.

Can I add additional workouts to assist my goal? Absolutely.

I believe I need to get more cardio every day. Even though I sweat and feel my entire body during my KB classes. I get my heart rate up but that is not straight cardio. Everything I have ever learned about fat loss is cardio, cardio, cardio...

So now it is adding additional Swimming and Walking / Running to my schedule. Accomplishing at least one all cardio workout a day on top of my 4 days a week kick boxing.

3) Stress Less - I've learned that stress plays / played a big role in me hanging on to the weight.

What I am talking about above adds a lot more stress / challenges to my day. I have to find balance with that. Maybe every week add something new... slowly work it into my schedule.

In past I have had a big habit of going all or nothing, I would get overwhelmed and fail.

I do not see failure, only success so I have to accept that my schedule needs tweaking and do it like I have with everything else, one day one step at a time.

I hope this message finds you well and I will keep you posted on my progress of making these changes.

Laughter, Love & Light,

Steph
